 1992 Svanstein SWE

The third IMC was scheduled for Perm RUS in the Ural Mountains, but administrative problems forced its removal to Sundsvall SWE. With no big hill available, the format was reduced to 37 and 60 meter jumping plus Nordic Combined.

The facilities and weather were very nice. With no big hill available, the format was reduced to 37 and 60 meter jumping plus Nordic Combined.

The facilities and weather were very nice. U.S. competitor Bob Hein woke up one morning, looked out the window and wondered if he had died and gone to heaven. No, he was in Sweden, living in a cabin near the outrun of the jumps, steps away from the cross country trails through the spruce forests.

A visual scan of the result sheets shows that 100 skiers from four nations made 193 starts in three events. Four skiers jumped only the K-60 while 23 jumped only the k-37.

The smaller table at right gives team sizes and the number of medals won by each of the four teams. The larger table (far right) shows the size of each age group in each event.

In 2014 we converted the early IMC result sheets to digital images with a scanner, then edited the images and produced web pages of the results. Here are the results for IMC 1992 in three pages which display these images.
